Words and Music

KIM AND DANNY: A reading and word/music performance with poet Kim Addonizio and guitarist Danny Caron. Kim and Danny have been collaborating for three years on musical settings for several of her poems. The result is a mix of straight-ahead poetry and poetry variously accompanied by guitar, a traditional Greek instrument called the tzouras, and Kim’s harmonica, for a unique and engaging listening experience—lyric poetry returned to its sources in music and the oral tradition. Kim and Danny have performed at the Dodge Poetry Festival, the Centrum/Port Townsend Writers Conference, the Sierra Writers Conference, and other venues, nationally and internationally, and are working on an album for Little Village, a non-profit, independent record company.
